Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Marked in Russia


Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- A joint conference was held in Sankt-Peterburg of Russia on Aug. 8 on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

Attending the conference were chiefs and members of organizations under the International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions, including the All-Russian Society for the Study and Dissemination of Kimilsungism, the Association for the Promotion of the Study and Dissemination of Comrade Kim Jong Il's Works and the Women's Union Named after Kim Jong Suk, the Russian Youth Association for the Study of the Songun Policy, the Ukrainian "Treasured Sword of Songun" Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Belarusian February 16 Youth Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Songun Politics.

Panchenko, general secretary of the International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions, in his report at the conference said that President Kim Il Sung founded the Juche idea, the Songun idea in "The Path of the Korean Revolution", a report made at the historic Kalun meeting in 1930.

The Korean revolution could make dynamic advance along the road of independence indicated by the Juche idea, the Songun idea since then, he said, adding:

The revolutionaries of Korea waged the 15-year long armed struggle, holding aloft the banner of independence under the leadership of Kim Il Sung, to defeat the Japanese imperialists and liberate the country.

Several personages made speeches at the conference under the titles of "The brave struggle of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army in East Asia, important factor of the victory in World War II", "War crimes committed by Japanese Samurais in Korea", etc.
