Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Marked in Brazil

Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- The Brazil-Korea Friendship Association issued bulletin titled "Everlasting Exploits of President Kim Il Sung for National Liberation" on August 10 to mark the 65th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

65 years have passed since Korea was freed from the Japanese imperialists' military occupation, the bulletin said, adding that the country's liberation was a historic event that brought about a signal turn in the Korean people's destiny and gave birth to socialist Korea.

Thanks to the country's liberation, a country for the people was built in Korea for the first time in the nation's history spanning 5,000 years, the bulletin said, and went on:

The DPRK completed the postwar rehabilitation and construction and accomplished the socialist transformation of relations of production in a short span of time and realized the industrialization in just 14 years under the condition where everything was destroyed owing to the war ignited by the United States. The DPRK has turned into a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence.

It is now building new factories and edifices based on the latest science and technology as required by the IT era one after another and successfully attaining the goal of building an economic power while stepping up the overall technological updating.

The DPRK, regarding the Juche idea as the firm guidelines of the state building and activities, has resolutely rejected the interference and pressure by outside forces and reliably defended the sovereignty and dignity of the nation.

The feats performed by the President for Korea's liberation will remain long with eternally prospering socialist Korea, the bulletin concluded.
