Korean People Merciless to Enemy
Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- The Korean people do not want a war but are always merciless to those who try to hurt their dignity.
In the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953), the Korean army and people defeated the United States, which unleashed a war against the newly founded DPRK, and the allied forces involving its satellite countries and defended the sovereignty of the nation.
After the ceasefire, the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppets have continued provocations against the DPRK in violation of the Armistice Agreement only to meet decisive counterattacks.
PCE No. 56 was sunk, armed spy ship Pueblo captured and large reconnaissance plane EC-121 shot down when the U.S. vessels and aircraft entered the DPRK's territorial waters and air.
When the U.S. imperialists made a premeditated provocation at Panmunjom, the Korean army gave a heavy blow to the provokers.
In the 1990s, when a latest-type helicopter of the U.S. army intruded into the DPRK's territorial air, a Korean soldier brought it down with a single shot, and when U.S. troops opened gunfire in the demilitarized zone along the Military Demarcation Line, the Korean army launched a retaliatory strike soon.
In the new century the DPRK withdrew from the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty after the United States killed the DPRK-US framework agreement and tried to put international pressure on the DPRK by mobilizing even the International Atomic Energy Agency.
With the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppets hell-bent on anti-DPRK nuclear war exercises, aggravating the already acute situation on the Korean peninsula, the DPRK has built up a nuclear deterrent to cope with them.
The historical facts clearly show that the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppets are doomed to failure in their anti-DPRK provocations.
