Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Marked in UK-KCNA

Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Marked in UK

Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association issued a joint statement on August 13 on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

The statement said that Korea's liberation on August 15, 1945 was achieved through the anti-Japanese armed struggle organized and conducted under the wise leadership of President
Kim Il Sung, the gifted strategist and invincible and iron-willed commander and the great sun of the Korean nation.

It went on:

Korea's liberation greatly encouraged the oppressed people of the world in their struggle against imperialism.

The anti-Japanese armed struggle which was organized and conducted under the banner of the Juche idea fathered by the President serves as a good model of the anti-imperialist national liberation struggle.

The Havana cultural meeting held in Cuba in 1968 highly estimated the documents on the strategy and tactics in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle of the Korean people as the genuine guidelines indicating the road of the anti-imperialist national liberation struggle of progressive mankind.

We congratulate the 65th anniversary of Korea's liberation, hoping that the Korean people will achieve the country's reunification as soon as possible.
