1st PBC-NPA raids Panabo City PNP Headquarters in Southern Mindanao
NPA Southern Mindanao 1st Pulang Bagani Company
March 21, 2011
An oversized platoon of the 1st Pulang Bagani Company-New People’s Army (1st PBC-NPA) launched a daring attack against the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, Saturday, March 19 at past 10 pm. Two enemies were killed while two others wounded. The Red fighters seized one M16 rifle. The aim of the NPA attack was to disarm the vicious police unit but its hostile actions warranted a countermeasure which resulted in the death of police personnel.
The attack on the PNP station is the fulfillment of the persistent clamor of the masses in Panabo for the NPA to enforce real security measures. The masses are elated with the NPA punitive action on the Panabo police. Contrary to the PNP’s hyped role as a public safety battalion and the 10th ID’s publicity as a peace and development force, the regime’s police and military forces in Panabo are actually coddlers of criminal gangs, if not directly engaged in criminal activities themselves in Panabo City. The Panabo PNP in connivance with the Military Intelligence Battalion-10th ID-AFP based in Panabo are the godfathers and brains behind the crime wave in the city.
The PNP is a legitimate military target consistent with the international rules of war as the PNP engages in combat operations against the NPA in the course of the previous Arroyo regime’s Oplan Bantay Laya and the current regime’s Internal Peace and Security Plan-Bayanihan. The 10th ID-AFP and the PNP in the region continue to unleash thousands of troops against the revolutionary forces in Southern Mindanao. Thus, the NPA tactical offensives are necessary and justified.
The continuing NPA tactical offensives launched across the country are not violative of the agreements in the GPH-NDFP peace talks. The seizure of enemy firearms is in line with the call of the Communist Party of the Philippines to build and arm new NPA platoons as the people’s war intensifies. The Red army is in the strategic defensive against the onslaught of AFP/PNP combat operations under the US-Aquino regime.
The daring raid by an oversized platoon under the 1st PBC-NPA highlights the resolve and determination of the people’s army to continuously hold the initiative by successfully countering the anti-people and pro-big agribusiness and mining armed aggression of the 10th ID-AFP, the PNP and its paramilitary units. The recent NPA tactical offensive once again underscores the superiority of guerilla warfare even in the face of massive enemy forces and further exposes the inherent weaknesses and vulnerability of the armed enemy in the face of an ever expanding and deepening revolutionary mass base.
