Korean People's View of Life-KCNA

Korean People's View of Life

Pyongyang, January 19 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il made public his famous work "Let Us Live Not Merely for Today but for Tomorrow" in January 1996.

The work clarifies the view of life to be possessed by the Korean people and principled matters arising in having a true view of life.

It is the idea of the work that one should devote oneself to the future of the country and the happiness of the generations to come, though one does not enjoy pleasure.

The work calls for always living and working in an optimistic way full of the firm conviction of victory.

The ideas and theories expounded in the work serve as guidelines for the Korean people to make their life worthwhile.

Regarding the noble ideas of the work as a maxim of life, the service personnel and people of the DPRK are bringing about a decisive turn in building a great, prosperous and powerful nation.

Last year all the people worked with redoubled efforts to put into practice the call of the Workers' Party of Korea for channeling everything into the drive for improving the people's standard of living, putting various sectors like light, chemical and metal industries on a higher level.

Such achievements are the shining fruition of the Korean people's genuine view of life, traits and work style aimed to bring a rosy future.
