Bombard the Educator Capitalist Headquarters!
Last time, people around the world hath witnessed the spontaneous events, made by the Youth all against the policies that wanting to deprive of the right to education, employment and social services. Particularly on the first part, due to the increasing of tuition fees in private universities, colleges and budget cuts in state funded tertiary educational institutions, of student repression and silencing of student-related opposition from the money-minded administrators, who, despite bragging to the society about their achievement, also unveils its desparacy through their schemes that wanting to milk out the struggling people its money, its labor-or even lives.
And since protests against the growing trend of profiteering, coming from school administrators had continuously increrasing, realls how Chairman Mao said in his speech that made "the east wind prevail":
"it is my opinion that the international situation has now reached a new starting point..."
And these opening words Chairman Mao said, mirrors a growing trend-cum-threat of opposition, stemming from the will of the people, as events around the world, including the Philippines, affects the entire people, particularly the toilers and the youth.
Speaking of the latter, we all notice that the youth of today are greatly worried, except of those apathetics of course, about government proposals on Budget cuts, College administrators on tuition and other fee hikes, continuous student repression, commercialization of edcucation, anything that is, detrimental to the "real rapid growth of people's development" due to the "profiteering" efforts made by these Educator capitalists, controlling every educational institutions whether State or Private.
Yes, as we all notice that, every news reports regarding about the youth are more focused on the present-day problems being encountered, and criticized from the halls of every college building (like in Palma Hall), to the halls of Congress (like Kabataan's Raymond Palatino speaking on behalf of the youth opposing teh budget cut), if not in other countries, like Banks, institutions of repression being attacked by the students in London and others all over Europe-as the youth, with its concoction of idealism, realism and rage, willing to set a rotten social order on fire.
For sure most people, upon watching those events on the Television or read in the Newspaper would rather criticize, assail the growing hatred of the youth in regards to budget cuts, tuition and other fee hikes, and other anti-student acts. Senator Tito Sotto even told to the people through his site that the protests against budget cuts were like protesting against a "ghost" as he said:
"(They) got it all wrong. It's like they're demonstrating against a ghost..."
A ghost? The current administration obviously wanting to have budget cuts on State-funded Tertiary education and leaving it instead to the administrators who wished to impose a tuition and other fee increase and other charges against the studentry!
One writer, in his blogpost even justified in a need for a budget cut in State Colleges and Universities, telling to the people that budget cuts in SCUs are justifiable, and instead the Government should focus much on Primary and Secondary education, leaving the Teriary level to the profit minded administrators. He even told those who study in SCUs not to be selfish and instead give the large chunk to Elementary and High schools! What a crass statement so to speak!
But seriously, that person didn't notice that why you need to justify budget cuts if there are more serious means for a bigger State subsidy in education? Why not allocate the two biggest chunks of the budget, those for debt servicing and for buying bullets, guns, and funding fascistic actions in the form of "counterinsurgency" operations to education in all levels as the constitution tells the state that its bigger chunk be allocated to schools, books, teachers and the like? Isn't it unfair to focus on Primary and Secondary levels while doing a laissez faire on the Tertiary level, leaving it instead to the administrators and impose a tuition hike?
Well...
The crisis affecting the youth further intensifies stringent opposition against the order. The protests in the office of the Commission on Higher Education in Diliman, to the gates of Mendiola in Manila becomes an opening stage for a growing rage against the anti-popular acts made by the administration, especially on policies not just in Education, but on Social Services, Peasant Problem, and the like.
Students, especially those studying in Private schools are greatly affected much as yearly Tuition and Other Fee Increases soar high same as its profits accumulated from it. Let's take UE for example, their alibi was and is that they are trying to recover from bankruptcy but how come they end up in the top corporations in the Philippines? Owned by a comprador capitalist notorious for its tax evasion and other schemes? Its students pay much as a result of the yearly increases both Pilipino and Foreign; speaking of the latter, that student pays a "Foreign Students Fee" aside from the registration, paying $75.00 as a foreign student. In the College of Arts and Sciences, according to one Persian Broadcast Communication student, he pays $800.00 for his tuition, how about those who study dentistry? A pre-Dent student pays almost $1000, and if enrolled in the course proper, pays $5000.00 plus $1000 each semester! To a Pilipino, who pays much same as that Persian studying, would also think how expensive a foreign student needs to pay-especially in Dollars if not in Pesos, worse as he/she pays a "Foreign Students Fee" plus a "Donation Fee" despite UE's growth as a profit oriented corporation, so why there's a need for a Farsi, a Chosonese, or a Chinese to pay the latter for sake? Isn't it obvious for the Educator Capitalist to create schemes to accumulate profits like in UE?
Internet fees with slow internet connections, energy fees, publication fees whose output isn't been given to students, sports development fees that few being allocated to its deserving athletes, these miscellaneous fees, some of them are exorbitant, adds much expensiveness aside from high tuition fees for a deserving student to pay in it before studying in that institution like UE. The administrators again, would brag that there is much development like having the entire campus a wireless fidelity zone, yet most of the students studying in UE had no laptop, nor that wi-fi connections are slow, limited up to two hours, ought to be paid as part of the tuition instead of making it as a freebie? Oh god! How much will a student, whether Pilipino or foreign would pay next semester, if the current student council, composed of scabs, agreed to the Educator Capitalist's increase proposal, whether it is 2 to 5, or even 10%?
After all, private schools like UE are treating its students milking cows to accumulate more profits as expected. Some students would think of it as justifiable, not noticing that despite the cosmetic improvement in that institution, the administrators forget that in one of its buildings, it's ceilings, old and dilapidated, drops water especially during rainy season! Speaking of improvement, what kind of things did they improve the institution since they accumulated much of money for that purpose? Painting the walls? Turning Carabao grass into Bermuda grass? Changing chairs into modern ones in some rooms? Yes, but if so, how come most computers in the Computer laboratory remained like those in the early '00s since one of the rooms boasted of a modern, flatscreen monitors, up-to-date software and the like? Is UE became choosy when it comes to improving things since they had much profits after Tuition hikes? Or, these people really accumulate profits for their coffers as Capitalists?
As the tide of popular hatred continues, I even think that how about the right-wing fools who tried to "join" into the scene? In response from the growing trend-cum-threat of the people against budget cuts and TOFI hikes, for sure they would assail them and call "Communists" and "Terrorists!" As radicals in every part vent off its rage over the issue they are greatly affected most. But, do they have any stand in regards to that question? Or just, like the order they loyally adhere to, tolerate the need for a budget cut and tuition hikes, desperately justifying it for goddamn sake? For sure they'll collaborate with profiteer administrators, government officials supported with budget cuts and tuition hikes, nodding in that said proposal and justifying it if it is questioned by the people. But, if it is questioned further, will they condemn these people questioning as "Communists?" One writer even told that:
"Nobody should believe the communists. (the student protesters) let them shout their lungs out, but people should just ignore them. if they cause mayhem and danger to the public and destroy property, the police should arrest them for public disturbance."
See? That person insist on apathy as he urged people to ignore the crisis in relation to Budget Cuts and Tuition Hikes! Isn't it obvious to a man that he called those who oppose these proposals radically as "Communists" like those of prominent Right-wingers who even said that raising a fist meant to be a "Communist?"
I even laughed much as one group of pseudo-progressive Right-wing fools tried to join the fray as they unleash a banner opposing the budget cut in PUP Sta. Mesa! But these people are even known for justifying the need for a Tuition fee increase and accusing the Progressives as "Left wing noisemakers"! How come these people changed their mindset yet they are supposed to be leaning into their bosses, the Liberals who kept on justifying Budget Cuts in PUP, as Abad stated, he prioritize funding for:
“other pressing socio-economic needs...”
Funding for what? Buying bullets? Doleouts? Debt servicing as the education situation grows worse than before?
The policies made by the current administration lies the conclusion of letting the Education system in general be left to a clique of Educator Capitalists around the country. The Budget Cut and the Tuition and Other Fee Increase, being the two sides of the coin, affects much of the entire studentry-especially those who belong to a working-class background. People still remained misunderstood about the prevailing situation nowadays in the Philippines same as other countries whose its youth resorted to violent means like in London and in Dublin due to the efforts made by both domestic and foreign media to vilify student activism, radical change and be equivalent to terroristic activities whilst tolerating the order's own dose of terrorism against the people, especially its banditry made by Educator Capitalists preying on the masses.
And lastly, here are the words the late Lu Xun said in his writeup "A Madman's Diary", that seemingly related to the situations prevailing around the world, not just this kind of crisis, but to others that affected the people, negatively from the acts made by Profiteers, Fascists, and the like:
"They eat human beings, so they may eat me.
I see that woman's "bite several mouthfuls out of you," the laughter of those green-faced, long-toothed people and the tenant's story the other day are obviously secret signs. I realize all the poison in their speech, all the daggers in their laughter. Their teeth are white and glistening: they are all man-eaters.
It seems to me, although I am not a bad man, ever since I trod on Mr. Ku's accounts it has been touch-and-go. They seem to have secrets which I cannot guess, and once they are angry they will call anyone a bad character. I remember when my elder brother taught me to write compositions, no matter how good a man was, if I produced arguments to the contrary he would mark that passage to show his approval; while if I excused evil-doers, he would say: "Good for you, that shows originality." How can I possibly guess their secret thoughts—especially when they are ready to eat people?
Everything requires careful consideration if one is to understand it. In ancient times, as I recollect, people often ate human beings, but I am rather hazy about it. I tried to look this up, but my history has no chronology, and scrawled all over each page are the words: "Virtue and Morality." Since I could not sleep anyway, I read intently half the night, until I began to see words between the lines, the whole book being filled with the two words—"Eat people."
All these words written in the book, all the words spoken by our tenant, gaze at me strangely with an enigmatic smile.
I too am a man, and they want to eat me!"
