Anniversaries of DPRK Marked Abroad


Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- Lectures, seminars, meetings and book and photo exhibitions were held in the Czech Republic, Austria, Brazil, Ethiopia, Italy, Sweden and Russia between Dec. 12 and 17 on the occasions of the 19th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's gaining of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 93rd birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.

Displayed were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, books and photos on the exploits performed by the three commanders of Mt. Paektu and books and photos introducing the Korean people's efforts to build a thriving nation and achieve national reunification.

The Songun politics of Kim Jong Il helped lay a foundation for building a thriving nation in the DPRK and paved the way for achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country, said the chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association.

Under the leadership of Kim Jong Il the DPRK emerged a military power with powerful war deterrent, said the chairman of the Brazil-DPRK Friendship Parliamentary Group.

The secretary general of the Italian Committee for the Reunification and Peace of Korea praised Kim Jong Suk as an outstanding political and military activist and a great woman revolutionary who performed great exploits for the Korean revolution by devoting herself to the independence of the country and the building of a rich and powerful country.

The chief of the Tynda City Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of the Russian Philosophy Association and other speakers stressed that under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, the Korean people would build a great prosperous and powerful nation in the near future and surely achieve the reunification of the country.

Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events held in the Czech Republic, Austria and Sweden.
