Revolutionary Battle Site in Sinhung Area Visited by Endless Crowd of People


Pyongyang, May 18 (KCNA) -- The revolutionary battle site in Sinhung area of South Hamgyong Province of Korea is a historical place where President Kim Il Sung and anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk guided activities of small units of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) and underground political workers several times and aroused people from all walks of life to the resistance for liberating the country during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

The battle site has been visited by more than 4.5 million servicepersons, working people, school youth and children for the past decade.

Kim Il Sung advanced to Sinhung area in September of Juche 26 (1937) and made a historic speech "For Bringing about a Surge in Revolutionary Struggle in Homeland" before underground political workers of the KPRA and chiefs of underground revolutionary organizations on Mt. Sambat. The visitors looked round the place where the meeting was held on the mountain, a secret camp for the headquarters, etc.

They also visited Twidokbong Secret Camp, Songji Valley and other revolutionary battle sites marked with footprints of Kim Jong Suk.
