US Urged to Drop Cold War-minded Way of Thinking

Pyongyang, August 30 (KCNA) -- U.S. President Obama recently said that the U.S. remains committed to helping the "security" and "defence" of south Korea and the U.S. secretary of State also talked about the "firm relations of cooperation" between the U.S. and south Korea.

The U.S. puts up such spurious signboards as "security" and "defence" whenever it mulls pushing the situation in various regions of the world including south Korea to an acute phase, but with no sophism can it cover up its scenario for aggression, Rodong Sinmun Monday says in a signed commentary.

It goes on:

It is as clear as noonday that nuclear test wars, staged by the U.S. imperialists in recent years after hurling armed forces huge enough to fight a war into the Asia-Pacific region, had nothing to do with "defence".

The frequent joint military exercises the U.S. staged with south Korea on the Korean Peninsula while crying out for tightened "alliance" is a vivid manifestation of its Cold War-minded way of thinking.

It is the U.S. scenario to have tighter hold on south Korea and Japan and contain by force the DPRK and countries around it in Northeast Asia.

The tightened "military alliance" with south Korea touted by the U.S. stemmed from its criminal intention to stifle the DPRK by force of arms and, furthermore, maintain and strengthen the military hegemony in the Asia-Pacific region.

It can not but be an anachronistic action for the U.S. to persist in the reckless war moves in collusion with south Korea under the signboard of tightened "alliance."

The U.S. is well advised not to make military strategic error, well aware of who its rival is. It should drop the anachronistic Cold War-minded way of thinking and stop the reckless military action.
