Projected Farce for Confrontation with DPRK Assailed
Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- The "Inchon landing operation", conducted by the U.S. imperialists during the last Korean War, will be reportedly replayed on a large scale in the waters off Wolmi Island on Sept. 15 under the signboard of "commemoration event". Involved in this event in form of military drill will be warships, airplanes, landing armored-vehicles, high-speed landing crafts and marines of the U.S. and the south Korean armed forces.
In this regard Rodong Sinmun Tuesday carries a signed commentary.
The event, the south Korean authorities are defending as "commemorative" and the like, is, in fact, a provocation to the DPRK and a revelation of their ambition for invasion of it that remains unchanged though over half a century has passed, the commentary says, and goes on:
The "Inchon landing operation" was a crime committed with aims to bring down the Korean people, who rose up in the just war of liberation against the aggression by outside forces and traitors, and realize their wild design for domination over the whole of Korea at any cost.
What the south Korean authorities intend in replaying the "operation" is to paint the U.S. as "savior" and "benefactor" and thus justify their treacherous policy of sycophancy toward the U.S., quell the people's growing anti-U.S. sentiment and further strengthen the "alliance" for war of aggression with their master.
What should not be overlooked is the fact that the said event is not intended merely for praising the U.S. and distorting the history of aggression, a history of injustice.
To eulogize the U.S. imperialists' history of war of aggression on the DPRK just means the will to repeat it. The present developments show that the south Korean conservative authorities are seeking to go for confrontation with compatriots in league with outside forces and realize their scheme for invasion of the DPRK at any cost, consistently turning aside the improvement of inter-Korean relations.
The south Korean authorities should renounce such farce for confrontation with the DPRK at once, pondering over the serious consequences to be entailed by it.
