A Call to a Soldier to Disband the AFP, the PNP, and Dismantle the PMA
by Ex Castillo
This is part of the long letter that I wrote to my High School 1968 classmate, or from 42 years ago. He studied at the Philippine Military Academy, and was an officer of the AFP.
I call to Disband the AFP, the PNP, and Dismantle the PMA, because they were established, and are creations of a foreign power.
The purpose for which they were created in 1901 by the U.S.A. was; “assisting in combating the remnants of the revolutionaries".
They are de facto foreign entities, not truly FILIPINO, and they themselves proved it so.
They did not fight for the interest of the Filipinos.
In fact, they fought against the Filipino Revolutionaries, our freedom fighters, in the side of the enemy.
They collaborated and participated to subdue our own people.
They arbitrarily arrested and jailed, injured, maimed, tortured, raped and killed our people, fellow Filipinos.
They fought along with and in the side of the invaders, the American military.
They were instrumental in the capture and/or killing of our National Heroes.
They were mercenaries of a foreign power, of the rich and powerful politicians, who also collaborated.
Their collaboration and active participation (which here we call treason and treachery) led to the massacres and eventual Philippine GENOCIDE, where millions of Filipinos, our grandparents, great grandparents, and great great grandparents, were killed.
At the present time, the AFP and PNP continue to be instruments of a foreign power, the rich and powerful politicians.
They arbitrarily arrest and jail, injure, maim, torture, rape and kill our people, fellow Filipinos.
They continue to subdue, suppress, and oppress the workers and farmers who fight for their rights.
They kill our heroes, the true nationalists who fight for the rights of ordinary citizens, especially "those who can not fight for themselves", "speak for those who can not speak for themselves", the true nationalists who fight for social justice, freedom, and genuine independence, because nobody would fight for these Filipino ideals.
These are the things that OUR military is supposed to do for OUR country and for OUR people.
Unfortunately, the AFP and PNP are not doing these.
They continue to do the purpose for which they were created;“assisting in combating the remnants of the revolutionaries".
Do you blame the, what you call, INSURGENTS, in filling the void of the duties that the Philippine military has failed to do - fight for social justice, freedom, and genuine Independence.
If you joined the fight for TRUE Land Reform, do you think there would be insurgents?
If you fought for liberty, justice and equality, do you think there would be insurgents?
If you fight on the side of OUR people, do you think there would be insurgents?
No, but they are around because, not only are the Insurgents filling the void that the Philippine military left empty.
They are the ones fighting for those ideals, and that makes them attractive to victims of rape, injustice, inequality, and exploitation.
I hope you understand and feel, as much as I do what this is all about and what it all means.
If you don't, in spite of your awareness of the facts, you can forget about calling yourself a Filipino, not even a Filipino-American.
Just plain American would be appropriate in your case.
