End to US Occupation of S. Korea Demanded-KCNA

End to US Occupation of S. Korea Demanded

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea issued a statement on Wednesday, 65 years since the U.S. illegally occupied south Korea.

The U.S. was the arch criminal who divided Korea into the north and the south, bringing misfortune and pain to the Korean nation and it is the root cause of aggression and war, the statement said, and went on:

The U.S. reckless moves for aggression and war against the DPRK have entered a very dangerous phase.

The U.S. presence in south Korea and its domination and moves for a war of aggression are encouraged by the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors.

The Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea bitterly denounces together with the whole nation the U.S. for having inflicted unspeakable misfortune and sufferings on the Korean nation for the past 65 years after occupying south Korea and the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors for prolonging its remaining days through sycophancy toward the U.S. and treachery and laying a stumbling block in the way of achieving peace and reunification in utter disregard of the dignity and interests of the nation.

Neither peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula nor peace and security in Northeast Asia are thinkable as long as the U.S. forces are present in south Korea.

The U.S. should properly understand the mounting anti-U.S. sentiment of the Koreans, withdraw its aggression forces from south Korea, discontinue the moves for a war of aggression against the DPRK and refrain from any acts obstructive to the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea.

The statement called upon all parties and groups and people from all walks of life in south Korea to drive the U.S. imperialist aggression forces out of south Korea, shatter the U.S. moves for escalating confrontation with the DPRK and war moves and turn out as one in the sacred anti-U.S. patriotic struggle to throw overboard the pro-U.S. sycophants and lackeys.
