Technological achievements for the economy in DPRK praised


Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- At least 250 new structures sprang up and major industrial establishments fulfilled this year's plans for national economy ahead of schedule thanks to the high-pitched drive for a great surge waged by the whole party and state and all the people on the occasion of the 65th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea.

All the fields and units have brought about these great innovations and leap forward by dashing ahead like the wind along the orbit of upswing.

There appeared a lot of monumental structures demonstrating the vitality of the WPK's line of putting the national economy on Juche, modern and scientific basis.

The workers of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex completely succeeded in no-coke iron production method by use of Juche iron blast furnace and established a Juche iron production system based on high-speed deoxidization completely relying on brown coal abundant in the country.

A modern vinalon factory went into operation at the February 8 Vinalon Complex to the greatest pleasure of the Korean people. The completion of a fiber band and drawing process made it possible to keep the production of quality vinalon threads and cloth going at a high rate.

The completion of a new large-scale anthracite gasification process at the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex was followed by the replenishment of one more streamlined process.

The Taegyedo tideland in the West Sea of Korea was reclaimed to obtain a new land equivalent to an arable land in a low-lying county. As a result, the contour of the west coastline of the country changed beyond recognition.

Dams towered high at the Huichon Power Station now under construction thanks to its rapid progress.

The workers of the Chollima Steel Complex built UHP electric arc furnace No. 2 and succeeded in its trial operation. They also built alloyed steel production base and technologically updated Revolving Furnace No. 3 at the Posan Iron Works and set up an oxygen plant with a capacity of 550 cubic meters, thus consolidating the foundation of production.

The workers of the Ryongsong Machine Complex completed a Songun iron foundry and Songun compressor shop based on the latest science and technology.

Power bases went into operation one after another and Power Station No. 1 started operation earlier than scheduled at the Paektusan Songun Youth Power Station construction site.

A great many modern factories and shops and Korean-style production processes were built in different fields and many objects including the E-Library of Kim Il Sung University were completed to be conducive to the development of the country's education, science and culture.

Many industrial establishments honored their yearly national economy quotas ahead of schedule.

A dynamic drive was waged in different fields and units of the national economy to put lots of industrial establishments across the country on a CNC basis. This resulted in establishment of computer-aided control system and placing production and construction on a new high scientific and IT basis and further intensifying the drive to study and introduce cutting-edge science and technology in a number of industrial establishments across the country.
