Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- Independent economy provides a material guarantee for independent politics, says Rodong Sinmun Saturday in a bylined article.
The imperialists are resorting to base moves to economically isolate and stifle those countries pursuing independent politics, the article notes, and goes on:
A solid independent economy can provide a material backing to independent politics and makes it possible for countries to advance along the road of independence undeterred by economic sanctions and blockade of the imperialists.
Some countries that had once followed the road of independence against imperialism were taken in by the intrigues of the imperialists mainly because they failed to build a solid independent economy.
A country strong in economic independence can certainly break through the economic sanctions and blockade of the imperialists but a country with weak economy is affected by them and comes under their control.
