Release from the clutches of an abominable and unjust judicial system
is an act of revolutionary justice*

The release of Dennis Rodenas from the clutches of the fundamentally unjust and anti-people Philippine judicial system is an act of revolutionary justice.

He was illegally arrested for fabricated criminal acts, detained on the basis of false charges, and wickedly convicted based on viciously unreasonable grounds, chief among them are the pieces of evidence planted by the 1st Infantry Division of the Philippine Army-Armed Forces of the Philippines and abetted by the Philippine National Police and their Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) appendage.

Despite these clear manifestations of injustice, the trial judge of this rotten judiciary who holds court in Misamis Occidental saw it just to pass a conviction and proceeded to mete out a spiteful sentence, to satisfy the fascist armed forces. Such is a common story that comes out from the judicial machine of the Philippine ruling class.

And so it is both imperative and reasonable for victims of the anti-people economic, social, political and legal system to oppose this and fight back, and exert all efforts -- primary of which is self-release -- to achieve their liberation from the jails of the ruling state. It becomes even more compelling when the release from the clutches of this abominable and unjust judicial system is attained through a daring military action by the people's army.

The revolutionary forces and the masses applaud the Herminio Alfonso Command of Guerilla Front 53 for their successful military operation that resulted in the release of Dennis Rodenas. The Merardo Arce Command-Southern Mindanao Regional Operations Command of the NPA congratulates the unit's commander, officers and Red fighters not only for this feat that saw justice triumph over injustice but also for achieving a remarkable military accomplishment in the seizure of 13 firearms and the taking into custody of four (4) PNP/BJMP officers for investigation.

There is no question that the four are armed, active and regular officers of the armed counterrevolutionary and coercive apparatus of the reactionary Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GPH). They were performing police work in the reactionary state's prisons which serve as a vital cog in the GPH counterrevolutionary war. In the political reality of two governments locked in a civil war, it is well within the realm of the revolutionary people's army to engage the entire armed security machinery of the GPH.

Their continuing custodial detention is governed by the rules of the NPA and is under the authority of the People's Democratic Government. Their basic rights are respected and their well-being ensured. We assure their families and loved ones that they are in good health and are treated well by the NPA and the revolutionary mass base.

Only the enemy's combat operations, and not their custodial detention, will put their situation in peril.
