Anniversary of Korea′s Liberation Observed by Foreign Papers


Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- Uruguayan and Russian newspapers carried special write-ups on the 66th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

The Uruguayan newspaper La Juventud on August 7 carried an article titled "'Long live General Kim Il Sung ', the slogan the Koreans shouted at the top of their voices 66 years ago" with a portrait of smiling President Kim Il Sung .

The paper said in the article that the President who brought about the liberation of the country by making long journeys of bloody battles against the Japanese aggressors had wisely led the country and people for nearly half a century after its liberation.

The DPRK has turned into a socialist country centered on the popular masses and a powerful nation, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence, it noted, adding that Kim Il Sung was not only the genuine benefactor of the Korean nation's liberation but also the benevolent father of the people and great leader.
