The Filipino people sympathize with the Norwegian people*

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) wishes to extend its deepest sympathies to the relatives and friends of over 90 people killed in the double terror attacks yesterday in Oslo and at a youth camp in the Norweigian island of Utoeya. The CPP and the Filipino people condemn these dastardly acts in the strongest terms possible.
The CPP, the Filipino people and their revolutionary movement are one with the Norwegian people in this time of mourning and in demanding that justice be swiftly meted out against the perpetrators of these heinous crimes.
These acts of mass violence is an act of contempt against the peace-loving people of Norway. It stands in stark contrast to the efforts of the people and government of Norway to push forward peace initiatives around the world, including the support it has provided for the peace negotiations between the Philippine government and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP).
The commission of these crimes by suspected right-wing elements underscores the deepening crisis of the capitalist system that has engendered the rise of neo-Nazi fascist groups. These groups have invoked racism, religious bigotry and class hatred in perpetrating attacks against the working class. They must be vigorously opposed by the Norwegian workers and people as they set their sights and efforts at defending and advancing their rights and welfare.
