STATEMENT REGARDING JAPAN'S NEED TO MAKE REPARATIONS TO KOREA

The UK Korean Friendship Association fully supports the statement of the DPRK Foreign Ministry of August 20th that Japan should make an immediate apology to the DPRK and finally pay reparations to the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea.

The atrocities of Japanese imperialism in Asia far exceeded the atrocities of the Hitler Nazis.The Japanese imperialists fabricated a treaty a 100 years ago and seized control of Korea making it a colony.Untold crimes and plunder were committed by the Japanese aggressors in Korea including forcing Korean women into sexual slavery and the mass theft of treasures and resources of Korea. Massive damage was done to the development of the Korean nation by Japanese colonialism and the sufferings of the Korean people were immeasurable.

It is only just that Japan apoligises to the DPRK ,though belatedly and pays reparations. Moreover Japan should stop repressing the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan,the legitmate organisation of Koreans and stop enforcing sanctions on the DPRK.

The Japanese imperialists must take their hands off Tok Islet. The UK Korean Friendship fully support the Korean people and DPRK government in their struggle against Japanese imperialism.

Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of Switzerland issued a joint statement on August 15 demanding a halt to the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises.

Accusing the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces of having staged joint military exercises one after another recently, the statement held that these war maneuvers were aimed to round off a criminal offensive scenario to stifle the DPRK, a sovereign state and member nation of the UN.

The Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il serves as an all-powerful treasured sword which helped have access to nuclear deterrent for providing a sure guarantee for the sovereignty of the DPRK and peace on the Korean Peninsula, the statement noted, warning that the reckless acts of the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet clique would end up meeting a miserable end.

The organizations strongly denounce the criminal and aggressive Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises, the statement noted, declaring they would join in the world-wide protest action calling for its stop.

Extending solidarity to the DPRK and supporting all the measures taken by it to defend the sovereignty, the statement urged the U.S. imperialists to stop the moves to ignite a war against the DPRK.

The vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czech and Moravia issued a statement on August 18 in protest against the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces' war exercises.

Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- British political parties and organizations held a rally and demonstration outside the U.S. and south Korean embassies in London on Aug. 17 in protest against the Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises of the U.S. and the south Korean puppet authorities.

Present there were figures of political parities and organizations including the New Communist Party of Britain, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy and the British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association and popular masses.

A statement issued by the British branch denouncing provocative UFG was read out and speeches were made at the rally.

Speakers branded the said saber-rattling as the anti-DPRK war exercises for aggression, contending the presence of the U.S. troops in south Korea is contrary to the resolution of the 30th Session of the UN General Assembly and the Korean Armistice Agreement.

Praising the socialist system of the DPRK as the most advantageous one in the world, they called for fully supporting and protecting the DPRK.

They staged a demonstration, shouting slogans "Stop the war exercises!", "Down with the Lee Myung Bak puppet regime!" and "U.S. forces, quit south Korea!" with placards reading "U.S. imperialists, take hands off Korea" and "We oppose UN sanctions" and flags of the DPRK in their hands.

Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and the south Korean puppet warmongers are advertising the Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises as ones for "examining defense and counter-action posture of the U.S.-south Korea Combined Forces" and a "drill of command post", not one for field maneuverability.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says in a signed commentary in this regard:

It is quite nonsensical to term UFG as one for "defense." The means involved in it, its scale, contents and nature prove that the military exercises are all-out war exercises targeted against the DPRK to all intents and purposes and the largest-ever test nuclear war.

After taking office the Obama Administration let loose rhetoric to create the impression that it is "interested" in the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula while talking about "a world without nuclear weapons". But the reality goes to patently prove that its much touted plan for building "a world without nuclear weapons" and "denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula" are nothing but hypocrisy.

Through UFG the U.S. imperialists seek to pressurize and threaten the DPRK by force of arms. It is by no means fortuitous that they advertised the war maneuvers as a "demonstration of armed forces".

But the army and people of the DPRK remain unfazed by such bluffing of the warmongers. It is the independent right of a sovereign state to defend oneself. The warmongers at home and abroad had better stop at once their reckless war racket, not misjudging the mental power and strength of the army and people of the DPRK.
